Lessons usually take place on Microsoft Teams, however if you prefer another platform some adjustments can be made. For each student, I create an individual Google Drive space that is shared on screen during each session. You can access it anytime you want and even edit it yourself and add some documents! Because I share the screen a lot during sessions, I recommend if possible that you take the class on a computer or tablet to make it easier to see the documents.

Since sessions are personalised, it depends on each student, however, here is an example of what can happen during an hour long session: -10 min of free conversation/guided conversation, answering your questions (something you’ve seen online, asking how to say a specific thing…) -40 min of grammar focused part with exercise and practice activity -10 min of a little vocabulary/conjugation game ​ This is only an example and can vary greatly depending on the student and even the student’s mood on a particular day : I’ll always come with something prepared for the lesson but if you feel particularly chatty and want only conversation, or have a specific issue you need help with, I’m completely fine with postponing what was planned and do what is best for you during the session. That’s the big advantage of adaptable individual sessions!

I don’t follow one specific textbook but for more clarity and to give good foundations I follow CECR levels. (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) : our first lesson together gives me a good idea of which level you are in and according to it I adapt where we will start from and what we will focus on. One of the textbooks that inspires me the most is Prêt-à-parler from Maison des Langues, but I don’t require you to buy anything.

Don't worry! Unless you are already very advanced or ask for direct immersion, I usually use a mix of English and French during the first lessons especially for grammatical explanations. I then progressively add more and more French until you are confident enough to do the whole session in French and rely on English only for very specific explanations. I will never force you to do an activity you are not comfortable with, and you can tell me anytime if you’d like to do something different! I do, however, like to challenge each of my students so that they can progress so I will always encourage you to speak and work on your weaknesses.

Payments are done on my Revolut account and in euros (it works like a regular bank transfer). If you have an issue with the payment via Revolut I also have a Paypal account that can be used for the payments (also in euros) but some small additional fees may apply. Sessions need to be paid before they take place : payments can be done separately for each session or monthly according to your preference.

Regular sessions are at least bi-monthly but other than that you are completely free to choose the frequency. For fast-progress I recommend two sessions a week, but if you’d like a lighter or more intense pace this is completely possible! Occasional sessions can be done at any pace you want and the number of sessions is also entirely according to your preference.

For regular and conversation sessions my availability is usually between 8 am to 8pm French time from monday to thursday and 8h to midday on Friday, all French time. I don’t put regular slots during the weekend because I am not always available, but this can be done occasionally, so feel free to contact me if you have specific scheduling needs! If you prefer having lessons at the same time/day every time, I can reserve a slot for you! If your planning changes from time to time we can schedule lessons session by session according to your planning and mine.

It’s up to you! I highly recommend working in between sessions and can provide homework that we correct together during the next one. If you do some self-learning with your own resources outside of the lessons, we can also have a look at it during the session.

Free rescheduling is possible if you advise me 24 hours in advance. In case of a specific situation, please let me know as soon as you can so that we can find the best solution together. If I need to reschedule a lesson (which only happens in case of a real emergency) I will contact you as soon as possible and will do my best to find a time that suits you well.
